AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SALARY
AND PER DIEM FOR MAYOR AND COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BARNUM
The City Council of the City of Barnum does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1: Each member of the City Council of the City of Barnum will receive an annual salary of $300.00 for serving on the council, along with a per diem amount of $20.00 for each regularly scheduled meeting, and $10.00 for each additional meeting. Budget, Truth in Taxation and Board of Review Meetings are considered part of the annual salary and are the only meetings not granted a per diem. The salary and per diem will be paid on a quarterly basis; April 1, July 1, October 1 and December 31.
Section 2: The Mayor of the City Council of the City of Barnum will receive an annual salary of $400.00 for serving as Mayor, along with a per diem amount of $30.00 for each regularly scheduled meeting, and $20.00 for each additional meeting. Budget, Truth in Taxation and Board of Review Meetings are considered part of the annual salary and are the only meetings not granted a per diem. The salary and per diem will be paid on a quarterly basis; April 1, July 1, October 1 and December 31.
Section 3: When the Mayor is absent and the appointed "Acting Mayor" is active in the Mayor's absence, the acting Mayor will be paid the salary and per diem of the Mayor for the period that he or she serves as "Acting Mayor".
Section 4: The effective date of this ordinance is January 1, 1995, after the next regular City election which is November 8, 1994.
